Get back into that closet

This week's VARA cartoon was based on a heartbreaking documentary (Meet The Young Americans) about young gays in America, who desperately want to be "cured" from being gay (no wonder if your dad says being homosexual would be the worst thing his son could ever do to him). To that effect, they go to gay conversion camps, founded by a guru who is convinced that being gay is a mental illness and the result of a traumatic father-son relationship. So the young men get themselves "cured", get married (to a woman) and keep on telling how happy they are with a somewhat painful smile.
