Science
A popular Dutch tv programme called De wereld draait door ("The world keeps on turning", but also "The world has gone insane") now has a new daily item: De wereld leert door ("The world keeps on learning") in which researchers are interviewed about their field of study. I combined this with two big scandals that have dominated the Dutch scientific world lately: the case of social sciences professor Diederik Stapel, who made up his own research data, and neurologist Ernst Jansen Steur, who diagnosed a great number of healthy patients with terrible diseases such as MS and Alzheimer's. In the cartoon, the two are starting up their very own science show, called De wereld fraudeert door ("The world keeps on committing fraud"). Stapel remarks: "I've already printed out the television ratings for the next three months".
